Thalline veil

thalline veil (noun, pl. thalline veils;ascocarp term) – a residue of thalline hyphae or necrotic thallus material remaining attached to the proper margin of lecideine apothecia, when the apothecium emerges from the thallus; present for example in Buellia spuria or Buellia stellulata. This is:part of ascocarp.
