Tholus flank

tholus flank (noun,ascus term, pl. tholus flanks) – the outer sides of the tholus, surrounding the central cone, axial canal and ocular chamber of asci; often distinctly staining in Lugol's iodine (e. g., Bacidia-type ascus). This is:part of ascus.
