Value
value (noun, pl. values; synonym: character state) – one of several possible conditions that describes an attribute of a particular structure, recorded either as a categorical quality in comparison to other structures (e. g., the overall length of a fruticose lichen thallus is comparatively short; the colour of a mycelium is comparatively dark, etc.) or as an absolute measurement (e. g., the fruticose lichen thallus is 10 mm long; the colour of the mycelium is black).
