mesic (adjective) – moderately moist, neither wet nor very dry; typically referring to the relative humidity of a habitat; often applied to habitats characterized by moderate rainfall, but more correctly applied to all sources of water, like dewfall, air humidity, etc. Related terms: xeric, arid, humid, wet.
