wet (adjective) – very moist and more or less saturated with water; typically referring to the relative humidity of the habitat; often applied to habitats characterized by high or extremely high rainfall or to soils with standing water, but more correctly applied to all sources of water, like dewfall, air humidity, etc. Related terms: xeric, arid, mesic, humid.
