Appressed

appressed (adjective; variant spelling: adpressed) – lying flat or pressed closely against, e. g., (1) in appressed foliose thalli the whole underside is closely pressed to the substrate and the lobe tips are plane or turned down and the rhizines, if present, are very minute; (2) in appressed apothecia, the base is virtually indistinct and the base is not or very scarcely constricted.
