Ascospore type

ascospore type (noun, ascospore term,spore morphology term, pl. ascospore types) – the typical appearance of an ascospore that is deemed characteristic because it is presumably based on the mature stage during ascospore ontogeny, when spore wall and septal thickenings are often most pronounced, cell lumina or locules thus assuming a characteristic shape.

Enumerations of spore types are available for the Physciaceae spore type, Roccellaceae spore type, and Opegraphaceae spore type
