Placodioid

placodioid (adjective; variant spelling: placoid) – referring to a crustose thallus that is areolate in the thallus centre but lobate or even plicate along the periphery and more or less orbicular in outline; sometimes rather loosely applied to include even small, peltate or umbilicate lichens like Rhizoplaca or Squamarina.
