Spore channel

spore channel (noun, ascospore term,spore morphology term, pl. spore channels) – very fine lines or fissures in the spore wall, apparently connected with the cell lumen, as observed in some spores of Pertusaria. The origin, function and ultrastructure of these channels is currently unknown. Not to be confused with a spore canal or isthmus. This is:part of spore.
