Thallospore

thallospore (noun, pl. thallospores) – any somatic (= asexual, vegetative) spore which is not formed from a conidiophore or conidiogenous cell; (1) in non-lichenized fungi usually applied to (single-celled) mitosporic cells like arthrospores, blastospores, chlamydospores or aleuriospores; (1) in lichens applied to granular propagules composed of one to several pigmented, thick walled fungal cells, borne on the underside or edge of crustose to umbilicate thalli, i. e., a "thalloconidium". This is:part of thallus surface. Kind of:upper surface structure.
