Ostiole
ostiole (noun, pl. ostioles;ascocarp term; original Latinized form: sl. ostiolum, pl. ostiola) – the round, pore-like opening of a perithecium, pseudothecium, or pycnidium through which ascospores or conidia are released. The term has also been used for pore-like openings of perithecioid apothecia of Pertusaria, however, in a strict sense this is not correct and the more general terms pore or orifice might be more appropriate for the openings of these fruit warts. This is:part of ascocarp, part of conidioma.
