Perithecioid

perithecioid (adjective) – similar in shape or structure to a perithecium; (1) a perithecioid apothecium is an apothecium that progressively becomes enclosed by the wall and at maturity thus resembles a perithecium; (2) a perithecioid pseudothecium is an ascocarp with ascolocular ontogeny but structurally very similar to a true perithecium; not to be confused with perithecial.
